Stoppy App Reviews
Almost perfect for my needs as a simple, visually nuetral Stopwatch-Timer.. A basic Stopwatch to time tasks, and a lap counter to essentually itemize. I would give it a 5-Star rating if they would add the option to have it “Stay on Top” of all open windows. Preferably, a check-box located right on the timer window, not a menu-preference item. That way, while working you could choose to have it stay on top, in view, or just by clicking the check-box, it would disappear behind the currently open windows. Thus elimating the need to go into the app preferences menu pull-down.
I purchased Stoppy a couple of weeks ago in order to time some web events that can take a few minutes or a few hours. I am using a MacBook Pro and El Capitan. My version of Stoppy is 1.0 (1) for which I paid 99 cents. Unfortunately, Stoppy can’t keep accurate time. I am not talking about missing a few seconds, rather it loses whole minutes! Specifically, when I am timing an event that is short and i keep Stoppy as the active window, it seems reasonably accurate. However, because I time longer events, I don’t want to litterally have to watch the clock the whole time so I switch to other windows and Stoppy should run in the background. It doesn’t. For example, I just ran a test where I started Stoppy at 11:00 am. I then clicked to a different window and 10 minutes later (by my Mac clock), I returned to Stoppy. It showed the time elapsed as 2 minutes and 34 seconds! It lost a whole 7 and a half minutes! Worthless! I want my money back!
